Social Services Connect – PowerPoint Presentations from 4/14/20 Meeting

by | Apr 22, 2020 | Event

CONGRATULATIONS to Everyone who participated in the Social Services Connect ZOOM call on Tuesday. 43 people were on the call, and things worked beautifully!

As each person spoke two words for how they are feeling right now, there was an incredible outpouring of HOPE, GRATITUDE, MOTIVATION, INSPIRATION, ADAPTATION,COLLABORATION, PEACE, AMAZING GRACE, CALMNESS, RESILIENCE , HAPPY, ENCOURAGED, CONNECTED, (and I love this one) OFF AUTO-PILOT.

Some of us were TIRED, LONELY, DISTURBED, ANXIOUS, AWKWARD, DISCONNECTED, CAUTIOUSLY OPTIMISTIC.

I wish I were the creative spirit who could integrate all these feelings into a Wordle that could be entitled What A Wonderful Community!

We were honored to have Max Gimbel, Assoc Director of Ford Institute for Community Building and Levi Williams, Associate Program Officer – Children, Youth and Families for Ford Family Foundation shared information about what the Foundation is doing to address these precarious times as well as outlining ongoing grant programs etc.

The best way I can determine to get this information to those who need to know is to send the PowerPoints of their presentations. Contact info is included on the powerpoints. Here are the links:

Nick Gross sends this blurb about his presentation for that SSC gathering. —-

“The Coos County Area Transit (CCAT) District is in the process of developing a Transit Master Plan to address existing and future transit needs in Coos County. The purpose of the May 12th Social Service Connect meeting is to provide an overview of the Transit Master Plan and to solicit input on transit needs to inform the development of the plan.

Specifically, the Transit Master Plan team is looking to hear how you currently interact with CCAT, what unmet transportation needs do you see for your community and what you think would help increase transit ridership in your community?”

This is your opportunity to give feedback on ways to improve our local transportation system. http://cooscountytmp.com/websites/58

I hope you can join us on Tuesday, May 12.

Keep Smiling, Stay Well and Continue Your Generosity!
