Coos History Museum

Detailed Information

The Coos County Historical Society began their work in 1891, opening the first museum in 1947 in Coquille, OR. In 1957, the museum moved to North Bend and in September 2015, opened to the public in our new building on the Coos Bay Waterfront.

We provide K to Gray educational programs, special events, and exhibits to the public. We serve the people of Coos County, the Greater Southern Oregon Coast, as well as visitors who travel from outside the area. We receive no direct government support for operating. We are a 501 (c) 3 organization whose mission is to create a better understanding of life and our place in that life thru museum programs. We are also a member of the North American Reciprocal Museum Association.
